Plustek 7400 Film Scanner
This is a quick review of this unit. I just started shooting film 3 months ago after having shot digital for the better part of a decade. I shot my first roll of cross processed slide film and fell in love with the grain/colors that you could not replicate with film. I now shoot a lot of my portrait assignments with color neg/and slide film on medium format. Several weeks back I purchased this film scanner as it seemed like an incredible bargain for the price on BHPHOTO. 250 shipped to your door. I scanned my 35mm images at the 7200 resolution and was blown away by the 20 megabyte files I got from this. I no longer had to spend 30-40 dollars a roll to get super high rez images to use for my art work and portrait assignment. I tried using the Epson V750 before but was not impressed with it (color accuracy was horrible for my various films and detail never looked quite right) This unit is beyond incredible for the money. Punch colors/great detail. I've printed up a 20x30 images from a scan and it looks phenomenal. I'm now selling this unit because I had to jump up to the Coolscan 9000 which cost me 2300 on ebay :( . I shoot medium format primarily now so I no longer need this bad boy. Rather then going through the hassle of returning it to BHPHOTO I'd rather some film enthusiast enjoy it here in LA. I was hesitant when I purchased this....because I could not find high rez images or real reviews of the scanner. This is an opportunity to come and look at the scanner and see the high rez scans i've done with it. I'm offering it at 230. Has original box/packaging/receipt from BHPHOTO and of course warranty. Its like buying it new...from them only you get it immediately and you get to test it out. If you have any questions/interest please call my cell at 310-728-9651

Beverly Hills Location Shoot (Foldable Medium SB/B1600)
Here is a shoot I did yesterday at 5:45 Am in the morning. Did it Guerrilla Style with just one B1600/Medium Foldable Softbox by Alien Bee/C-stand/Cyber Syncs/and of course Vagabond II.
I wanted to go for a dramatic lit shot with a nice mix of ambient lighting and strobe lighting. Inspiration for these shots have come from Calvin Klein ads that I've seen over the past year or two. Most shots were done at 1/16 and 1/8 power. I really like the foldable soft box as its quick set up allows me to get in and out of a location in less then 10 minutes. As luck had it a cop drove by right when we started, but I told him I was a student at the art center and needed practice. He allowed me ten minutes...(a cool non-douchebag cop for once)
All lighting setups have soft box at camera right. (last shot is actually all natural light)
